What happens if I miss a court date?
- The judge has the authority to issue a warrant for the arrest of any person who willfully fails to appear in court.
- Generally speaking:Failure to appear on a traffic infraction will result in a formal summons being issued. Subsequent failure to appear will result in suspension of driving privileges.- If the defendant is under bond, the bond will be forfeited automatically and a warrant will be issued.
- Failure to appear for trial will also result in the automatic issuance of a warrant.
